She entered OHMA in 2020 after obtaining her bachelor's degree from Hampshire College in Anthropology, Ethnography, and Afro-Latin American Studies. For her thesis, Amalia looked deeply into the stories of her own birth story and adoption story, after meeting her biological family in 2021. Unburdening - A Story Untold is a multimedia series of conversations, websites, and dialogue created by Amalia Schwarzschild. Amalia was adopted a few weeks after her birth in 1998 and was reunited with her biological family in March of 2021 at the age of 22. This story is one that has taken years to develop and years to unfold. This project is dedicated to all adoptees who are searching for their families - no matter the difficulty.
