2023 Bio Ambar Johnson

Ambar Johnson is an urban and transportation planner, writer, and oral historian who creates at the intersection of climate, connection, and culture. Being part of the first generation in her family to be born up North, in a city, and not live off the land influences her desire to revisit her roots. She is an M.A. Candidate in Oral History at Columbia University, a Mellon Summer Intern collaborating with the New York Botanical Garden and Bronx Green-Up in their Bronx Foodways Oral Histories Project, and a proud alumna of the Georgia Institute of Technology. With her work featured in Allure, The Boston Globe, and Shondaland, Ambar loves to explore what moves us.
