She has been enrolled in the Oral History MA program studying police brutality in New Mexico. Bernadette has been interning with Movements Against Mass Incarceration Oral History project this academic year. Bernadette is an avid runner, having completed 28 marathons, she hopes to complete one in all 50 states, and one on each contienent.

Zozobra brings his glooms east is a three part exercise in the futility of memory. Part one is a collection of short snippets of interviews around the death of Roy Gallegos, who was killed by a police officer in 1971, that have brought gloom to the listeners in the east. Part two is his ritual burning to bring peace. Part three is the reemergence of glooms in the listing of names of people who have been killed by the police in the state of New Mexico since the inception of the project in 2020.
NOTE: This in-person, private exhibit opens April 26, 2025 and is accessible by invitation only.
